Kinesiology Screening Tests
Screening tests ALWAYS take place before kinesiology correction/treatment/body balance or supplementation/food intolerance testing work. Although each client treatment is unique, all clients are taken through every pre-test (screening) with corrective measures before commencing.
This is the most common reason that the use of muscle testing by lay people may prove innacurate, because they have not tested the efficiency of various bodily and energetic pathways before testing.
The major screening tests are listed below.
Circuit Test
When we test a muscle in the clear with no other stimulus, we are testing the functional integrity of the complex circuit of the portion of the nervous system involved in that muscle, plus the fuction of the muscle itself. For a muscle to test strong and in the clear, many individual factors must be functioning well. These include:
If any of the above are out of balance, the muscle will not fire properly and will test weak or hypertonic (too strong)
Strong Indicator Muscle (SIM)
A SIM is a muscle that tests strong and in the clear and can be turned off temporarily by:
This has to be one of my favourite tests, as it normally causes absolute amazement from clients, especially those who are weight lifters!
Visual Inhibition
Many of us keep our eyes straight ahead. When we want to look at something that is not directly ahead, we normally turn our head. To look left or right we turn our head instead of moving the eyes, making the eye muscles weak.
The eyes can turn off muscles.
To find out if there are certain positions where the eye muscles aren't functioning properly, I test a SIM while the client keeps their head straight and looks:
If any of these positions weaken the SIM, corrections are made.
Dehydration Test
Around 70% of the body is made up of water, which is an excellent conductor of electricity. All the chemical and electrical actions of the brain and central nervouse system depend on the conductivity of electrical currents between the brain and sensory organs.
Unless a client (or surrogate) is hydrated during testing and treatment, the muscle and lymphatic system tests may become inaccurate. Historically, half the clients that come for testing require hydration before work commences; normally 1 glass is sufficient, but it has been my experience that some clients need up to 5 glasses before treatment could begin.
Auricular Lock
For some, excessive exposure to electronic sounds, use of headphones, mobile phones, TV, computers, sleeping on one side etc. creates tension in one or both of the ears.
The ears are energy receiving antenna stations! With around 400 acupuncture points which relate to every function in the brain or body, the ears help us focus on our hearing and also relax tension in the cranial bones.
Using a SIM, I test for weaknesses in each ear and make quick corrections if necessary.
Switching
Switching is a broad term used in kinesiology to name a state of electrical confusion which arises in the body. Circuits are giving incorrect messages. We live in a three dimentional physical world, our bodies are three dimentional, with ENERGY, operating the physical form. When the energy which runs the physical body becomes disorganised, the functions it controls and directs also become inefficient.
The complex circuitry of our bodies can get disturbed in many ways. Emotional overload, stress, fear, eating food we are sensitive to, an accident, bad news, electro magnetic stress, lack of sleep etc. can cause us to switch.
There are three basic tests to determine if switching needs correcting before a full body balance can take place:
UP/DOWN - may manifest as problems going up and down stairs, disorientation looking up and down, confusing 'b' with 'p' or '6' with '9' etc.
LEFT/RIGHT - may show as confusion between right and left or mixing 'd' with 'b' etc.
FRONT/BACK - may be seen as handwriting which slides up or down or problems reversing the car or using a rear view mirror etc.
After all the screening/pre-tests, a full body balance can take place: http://www.creativekinesiology.com/kinesiologybodybalance.htm
